Everyday washable fabrics

Cotton, polyester and common blends are the everyday fabrics Stain Away is made for. Patch-test first, then treat as usual.

Coloured garments

Always patch-test for colourfastness on a hidden seam before treating a visible stain on coloured clothing.

Whites

Follow the garment's care instructions. Whites generally treat well, but check the label for any special finishes first.

Upholstery and carpets

Test an inconspicuous area first and avoid oversaturating the material. Blot rather than rub on larger surfaces.

Shoes

Suitability depends on the material. We don't recommend use on leather, suede or other specialist finishes unless you've patch-tested and are confident in the result.

Take extra care with silk, wool, leather, suede, dry-clean-only items, delicate finishes and specialty dyes. Don't assume every fabric or dye is compatible — patch-test first and follow the garment's care label.

Results depend on the stain, the fabric, and how long the stain has set. Older, set-in stains can be more difficult to treat than fresh ones.
